seems like everybody got difficulty for bio this year due to increasing graphical analysis, pictures, and experiments. is there new trends for bio this year? or just same as before

Yeah, just took it this morning and bio is freaking hard.😳

hausee, what do u mean by the bio is hard?
what makes it hard?

Thank you

Asked a lot experimental Qs and had no idea what are they talking about. Probably I wasn't fully awake yet. My test was 8:10am.😳

this is why i constantly recommend the cliffs ap bio book, its a great organized, review and in the back there is a section that is dedicated to experiments. check it out, its pretty good.

biology on the DAT is not just definitions straight forward. It is more conceptual and requires you to use ur biology information in given situations such as experimental analysis. I agree the bio is quite random and sometimes you will just have to use ur best reasoning to get the question right but its not straight forward you can memorize everything in the world but theyr will be questions that will require more than just memorizing and will need you to conceptually think and analyze data. As well as the other subjects on the DAT. The best way to prepare for this section would have to be Cliffs AP bio DAT destroyer.

One thing I have noticed about the bio section is there is usually a point or 'significance' that is trying to be conveyed in the question. When reading the question and the answers (if at this point it's not a straight forward question) try to look and see what possible answer is conveying a key point or significance to the question, especially if you come across a question where it looks like there may be more than one possible answer. When they say 'pick the best answer', it means pick one where some key point is being made. Hopefully that made some sense.

It is because of the experimental cell biology topics.

Those topics weren't even covered in my genetics course.

Pick up a copy of the Campbells textbook and read the genetic basis of development chapters.

There is info about it in my sig.
