HAPPY NEW YEAR, ALL! Hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season!

TT - Really digging your new avatar. Is that your 'baby'? Very cute!!

Like most, I need to get my arse off the couch and lose those 20lbs I've gained. I lost 60+ and was doing well for a long time; but it's starting to creep back on. Damn that working full time while going to school.
Accomplished! Proud to say I took off more than the 20 and was at a weight I hadn't seen since middle school until I let myself go for the holidays. I did keep running though, so it wasn't too too ugly. This year, my goal is to get stronger and then sign up for and finish the Broad Street Run in two hours or less (once I get permission from my orthopedist who's liable to have a stroke when he hears that I'm up to 5 miles).

Become less of a 'Type A' personality.
I've concluded that it's not possible to change my genetic make-up. 🙄 But, the running and yoga have helped immensely. I think I'm down from an A+++ to an A++. Perhaps this year I'll work towards just a simple A.

Save money.
Eh. I managed to get some put away and then decided to pursue to the almighty dream one last time, and spoil the pants off my niece for Christmas. Also, new running shoes aren't cheap! So, building up the savings is back on the list for this year.

Do something that makes me happy (other than drink beer). I've spent so much time focused on work and school that I've lost track of a lot of things in my life. And maybe if I cut back on the brewskies, it will help with goal #1? However, I fear it may set me back on goal #2!!
I would say I got close. I spent more time with my niece and that makes me happier than almost anything. Also, because she's getting bigger (she'll be 2 in the spring) she's becoming a ton of fun. Not to mention that I can kill two birds with one stone when I see her as my brother-in-law is one of my favorite drinking buddies. Thus, I think I'll keep this up.

When I read I like to sit down for hours at a time and devour huge parts of books. Of course, this sort of time is hard to come by during vet school and thus free-reading only happens for me during breaks. I'm going to really, really try to squeeze in at least a chapter or two of something a day to keep it going during the semester. It won't be the same but at least it'll be some progress!

I just made a list. I'm not usually one to make resolutions. But this year, I'm feeling it's necessary. I need some inspiration. My are pretty standard, strengthening my weaknesses.
