Genetics and Organic II - 8 HOURS!!!! OMG!

I can't wait to feel what it's like to not be taking 16 while working full time .... oh yeah, there's that pesky MCAT studying thing too. So much for a slow semester now.

21 hours with organic? Why are you taking physical chemistry II if you are a philosophy/psychology double major? I call shenanigans. It seems also that a lot of people are putting 20+ hours on here.

chemistry concentration mannnn
and i don't know why people think organic chemistry is so hard.... PCHEM and social psychology will be much harder than it (by far!)

Organic Chemistry
Molecular Biology

Chemistry concentration with a Bachelor's in Psychology and Philosophy?
That doesn't make sense, unless you are a chemistry minor.
On another note, it's not that organic is hard, it's just time consuming. If you really are taking 21 credit hours with OrganicChem and PhysicalChem, you won't have time to sleep, unless it is one of those physical chemistry for the life science classes, and not the calcIII based pchem.

1. some humanities class so i can freakin graduate
2. one more complex molecule synthesis course
3. one more pchem course*
4. one more chemical biology course

*does anyone else have this problem where one can do organic chemistry fairly well but absolutely canNOT learn pchem/math? i mean, to the extent that you feel sad not being able to rationalize enantioselective CBS reductions once in medical school, but at the same time, you just canNOT even think about eigenvectors without a MAJOR headache? i am absolutely DREADING my last pchem course.... *quakes with fear*

cell motility and cytoskeleton
neurobiology of learning and memory
biochemistry
chronobiology and sleep

18.0 credits

Next semester is cake. Micro/lab, Physio lab, Orgo 2 lab, child psych (dono why im taking this, but seems like it'll be interesting...)... then off to med school

16.0 hours for the semester

Plus I am going to be studying for the spanish clep.

Yep, I do have a minor in chemistry ( I suppose that woudl've been the better word to use over concentration). Oh and trust me I don't intend on getting any sleep at all.

Last semester :D

21 credits of
phys chem
spanish
x-ray crystallography
lab modules in chromosome & protein fn + structure
computer programming
evolution
research

can hardly wait...

6 classes = 0 time for yourself. That class list is just asking for "F"s

if you can stick on top of it u'll be fine.

last semester i had a bio class, gen chem, orgo, and physics (all with labs) as well as a bioethics course and a nursing class for my major (22 hours total). it was hell, but i worked my tail off and pulled a 4.0. good luck!

orgo 2
orgo 2 lab
biomechanics
biochemistry
engineering materials science
evolution of rock
electrical circuits lab

Animal Behavior
Biological Psychology
Orgo 2
Physics 1

Conservation biodiversity (but I want to switch out of this for evolution)
Global Climate Change (want to switch out for a french)
Behaviour Genetics
Pagan Religions
Honours Thesis

It won't be doable till next fall. I'm definitely going to have to take algebra since pre-req for pre-cal is trig and I haven't done that yet. Looks like I'm far behind in math.

I'm right (behind) there with you. I'm a freshman heading into my second semester, and I just squeaked out of no-credit Preparatory Algebra with a B. I have to take up to pre-cal and statistics, so I've got a few more to go.

Organic II
Physics II
Introduction to Film
Seminar in Plato (writing intensive)
= 13 hours not counting two labs and my independent study in Greek. My lightest semester yet.

microbiology
biochemistry
genetics
neurolobiology
immunology

i might drop microbio to take a biochem lab

Human Structure and Function (basically Anatomy and Physiology)
Human Structure and Function Lab
Intro To Clinical Psychology
Drugs And Behavior
Medical And Biological Visualization

13 hours

**gen bio II (4 credits)
-->gen bio lab
**gen chem II (3 credits)
-->gen chem lab (1 credit)
-->chem recitation
**calc II (3 credits)
**intro to literature (3 credits)
**intro communications (3 credits)
**bio colloquium (1 credit)

18 credits, second semester freshman year. goina be rough, i think.:scared:
Meh, its a so-so schedule. Calc2 is easier than Calc1

Second semester
[5]Zoology
[5] Gen Chem 1
[4] Calculus 2.

All that, studing for 08 MCAT, hospital volunteerwork, and a part time job....
Awesome.

I'm sure he is, poking fun at the 'many' 19+ credit takers that have posted here.

one of which was me. Reason i can take 20 credits, is because im an undergrad. The only 2 real classes im taking are a&p, and organic chem. The other ones are B.S. waste of time, required credits.

Thats great dude I thought I was the only one here in this situation.

So what are you taking next semester?

University Physics II
Physics Lab II
Organic Chemistry II
Organic Chem Lab II
Evolution
Introduction to Geography

Hey,

I'm taking:

Gen. chem II w/lab
Bio I w/lab
College Algebra
Sociology

14 credits. I should probably take another easy general requirement class, but I kinda want to save a lot of the super easy classes for next year, when I take organic chemistry (the plan is for organic to be my only "real" class).

I'm a little worried this semester, though...the Bio shouldn't be too bad, but I don't feel so safe taking chem. II and algebra together.

Luckily, my school doesn't even require that I take calculus, so I can take pre-cal and statistics and be done with math.

I guess we can be examples of pre-med students who, for a change, are not good at math!

I guess that can be accomplished if you do nothing but study at your job (and seeing how that is common at Uni's that is what probably would most accurately describe your situation). And you probably have no social life.

If you do have a social life, then more props 2 ya

I'm only taking medical spanish and just working full time....

Yay for me...oh and I will be a Histology TA

Organic Chem I w/lab
Physics I w/lab (a retake because I got college credit in HS)
Calculus for biology and medicine
Gen Chem II (retake...I got a C last semester -- eek!)

Organic Chemistry II + Lab (5 hours)
Human Physiology (4 hours)
Genetics (3 hours)
Humanities - Victorian Mirrors (no idea what it's about... it's required for gen ed, though -- 3 hours)

and a winterim class: History of Recent European Film (3 hours-- 4 1/2 hours a day for 9 days)

Total for Spring Semester: 15 hours, 18 with winterim

Other time requirements: MCAT study, volunteering at hospital, other extracurriculars, and possibly a job.
