The amounts used to be $30,000 for 3rd & 4th years (maybe even 5th) & $20,000 every following year until debt was paid off. For those of us with significant debt, this was a real attractive, tax-free option.

The new amounts of $20K & $10K respectively have me less incentivized to go beyond four years. (I'm just beginning year #3). I wonder if old NHSC LRP recipients are grandfathered in to the old amounts?

Sounds like an excellent way to decrease interest in the program.

does that apply to people already awarded scholarships? Or people that will apply in the future?
