NICU Residency

I had a quick question for anyone who is thinking about pursuing Neonatology or currently completing their residency. Is this a separate residency from General Peds or is this a fellowship to be completed after the 3 years of General Peds residency? I was unsure as I had heard that NICU was it's own residency???

Neonatology is one fellowship option (cardiology, critical care, pulmonology, endocrinology, etc.) for pediatricians completing 3 years of residency. Neonatology is not a residency specialty.
