Also...I don't know if any of you are interested, but there's this great program called CHIME that allows you to view 3D protein structures (from all sorts of viewpoints/configurations), just about anything from the Protein Data Base (Bank?). You can also put little spinning protein animations in your PowerPoint through another series of programs...makes some pretty cool graphics/tools for your audience...if anyone's interested, I'll look up the links...

The first thing you have to do is download CHIME

from this webiste

http://www.mdl.com/products/framework/chime/index.jsp

On the right theres options to download...click this and u will be taken to a registration pg (free so no probs) and then give the option to download...

After this, theres a set of instructions at this webpage from the PDB:

http://www.rcsb.org/pdb/animation.html

The instructions are a bit confusing, but you shoul dbe able to figure it out...theyll send u to another webpage that will actually animate ur stuff for you...

let me know if you have any questions and id be glad to help...

little spinning proteins look really professional for a presentation, so i recommend it...

good luck!

Rasmol is da bomb. Takes a little while to get used to, but it's so much simpler once you know the commands. Reminds me of the good ol' days of DOS...
