Are there night calls in Neurology? What do typical schedules look like? I'm trying to find more information because all I know is that in Neurology, yes, there are times when people are on call. I don't know, though, if that is more like short calls or working nights.

EM resident answer: I have to call somewhen when there's a stroke or a status patient at 2AM, so there has to be a neurologist on call.

Most programs do a short call/nightfloat system in residency, though some are still Q4 overnight. As an attending it would depend entirely on your practice setting and subspecialty.

Short answer. Yes.
