Hi everyone I have an odd situation regarding my NIH SIP internship and was wondering if this has happened to anyone doing the SIP program. So I have already completed my SIP application and contacted a bunch of PIs, and by February 9th, I found a lab within the NIAMS to work with. The PI has already set me up with one of his postdocs and a project in mind.

Regarding official registration, the postdoc sends me an email
I talked to the person who deals with the summer internship students. You only have to file the NIH SIP application. After that, he will add you to our group. Alasdair has already sent him the request for you. So, all we need to do now is waiting for the application process. I am sure you will get accepted. After that, it will be just administration work. I will keep you updated when I hear anything about it.

That email was sent February 9th...several followup emails later to my postdoc and to Debbie Cohen the programs director in the weeks following, I still haven't received some sort of confirmation email or any information regarding my acceptance for the internship. They have tried to contact Mario Cerritelli, Ph.D.
Chief, Career Development and Outreach Branch of the NIAMS but we haven't received a reply as of today.

Has anyone had anything like this happen before? I am getting sorts of worried about this situation and that somehow this NIH SIP is going to slip through my hands...
