I wanted to know,how many questions are on NMBE Form A and Form B? The website says 200 but 2 tests so are there 400 q's or 200 total?

This may sound slow but what are these NBME form things anyway. I took step one last year so they wouldn't be much use to me now. Is there such a thing for step 2 and where could I get them?

Yes, there are two self-assessment exams for the Step 2 also.

Quick question,

Regarding the NBME online exams to which everyone is referring... I'm online right now, and it appears they have 4 sections each X 46Q's. Are these exams different from the ones everyone appears to be using to gauge their potential performance on the actual exam (curious b/c people seem to be doing exams with 50Q's per section)???

Or, are the comprehensive basic science forms (with 50Q's/ section) the exams which are indicators of potential performance??

The Step 1 assessment exams have four 50-question blocks, and the Step 2 assessment exams have four 46-question blocks. Simply choose the assessment for whichever step exam you're getting ready to take. I'm sure both give you feedback on your performance

please help. i went to the nbme website and all i found was a document with 150 step I practice questions part of the 2004 content description. http://www.usmle.org/step1/default.htm

i think that is different than the self assessments yall are referring to. is this what you are talking about...
http://www.nbme.org/programs/sas.asp i dont get these...once you pay, there is a 20-30 day time limit. can you still see the questions to review after that time period?????

does anyone have 2003 and earlier sample tests saved on their computer(the questions that are given out for free along with the content descriptions...the first link i gave)?? if so, can i get them please?

The questions cant be reviewed. The way to do the test is to take it on the 4 hour mode, take the full test, and then before submitting it, look up all the answers (but dont change any) in your FA or whatever. You cant see the test after you submit it.

Could somebody please list all of the "real" step 1 questions that have been released. My understanding is that there are two different 200 hundred question tests that cost about $40 each and then 150 free questions.

I've also heard about a NBME CD, is this the 150?

Yep, this is the most efficient way to utilize the assessment exams.

Your understanding is correct. And the NBME CD is made up of the same 150 released questions that we all know about, except it uses the computer delivery program that you'll see on the Step 1, rather than a pdf file.

To my knowledge, there's nothing else available from the NBME.
