Should me know NMR values for major functional groups? Obviously it wouldn't hurt but it's getting close to my test date and I don't want to waste unnecessary time. I have memorized major values for IR spec. b/c that seems to come up a lot more often. Thank-you in advance!

I think he's talking about H NMR and C NMR values.

I memorized H NMR values... i didnt go over C NMR yet. I may go over them on the day before the exam.

But I would memorize H NMR values; they can be helpful. 7 H NMR means they're on a benzyl ring, 11-12 means they're COOH H, 10 is Aldehye, etc.
