I was wondering if any of you were still waiting on interviews or acceptances? I've sent in quite a few secondaries (around 9) and haven't heard anything from any of the schools yet.

Is this normal at this time of year? I've seen many have gotten interviews/acceptances already and I'm starting to wonder if silence = rejection.

9 secondaries isn't that many.

What are your stats? When did you submit AMCAS? When were you complete at schools? What schools did you apply to?

I still have a few secondaries to fill out, since I've gotten everything in so late. (Problems with a late LOR, SEVERE transcript issues that held my application over for weeks, etc). I'm even surprised secondaries come out this late.

Applied to 17 schools (with FAP, paid for a few)
Verified 11/16/12
3.26/3.55
27Q (only taken once)
URM (Puerto Rican)
Disadvantaged/Non-trad (No kids, husband relies on me to survive.)

Also a huge sob story that I added to the secondaries. I had a 4.0 my first two years but then had a financial scare, and I found out my remaining, distant family members can't lend me anything if an emergency happens. This scared me to the point of being unable to remember things after studying, unable to sleep, test-taking nervousness I never had before. If I don't get in, I'm basically messed up and there's $70k+ of my husband's student loan debt to pay. ($28K of mine, mostly from getting loans in the summer to survive while also working).

You've been verified for less than a month and are worried that you haven't heard back from any schools? Had you applied back in June, or even August, I would say that the likelihood of you getting in was high considering URM. But you applied very late and I don't think your stats are high enough to compensate for it.

I'm worried that I have no interviews. I thought I would have heard something by now. Even just a rejection to be able to cross something off my list.

This will vary by what schools you applied to, but I have been complete at schools since July and still haven't heard back from some of them. If you were verified on 11/16 I'm not sure you are even marked complete yet at some schools.

A financial scare affected your testing for two years straight..?

I think you should've applied DO

The scare showed me that, if I mess up, I can be sure I'll be homeless in no time. No going back to live with parents (dead/on disability) or grandparents (all dead) like other people can. I'm on my own.

And I probably should have, but I've gone through the DO forums and it appears to be too late now.

You're going to see that it takes schools a LONG time to get back to you. For a lot of schools, people don't hear back for literally 4-5 months.

Did you go to college in PR? Did you apply to PR schools?

You were verified/complete at your schools extremely recently, so you'll be waiting until later in the winter or even spring for interviews if you get them. It will depend on the schools you apply to as well.
