The first semester at my undergrad is pass/fail (there is no choice in this). So I had no choice in receiving "P" vs. letter grades. My chem 1 and bio 1 grades are "P." Will I ever get admitted to dental school?

One caveat is that the actual grades that I earned in chem 1 and bio 1 were provided to ME. But they are not on my official transcript. However I do have paper documentation of them. But since my university refuses to send them out and I will have to, they will be considered unofficial. If I mail these "unofficial letter grades" directly to the dental schools will this solve this "problem"?

I have a 3.98 and I am on track to get a high DAT score (based on my practice). Am I screwed due to this P/F issue?

note: I ALSO have AP credit for bio and chem (but I still took the classes during my first semester since I was required to).

Thanks for any input here!

Nope it's over, you may want to consider pharmacy school.

Seriously though, call some schools, explain the situation, and see how they'd like you to handle it. Schools aren't going to punish you for a grading system beyond your control.

No.

Just kidding.

Don't bother. There's nothing you can do to change this now. Just submit the application. Schools usually send a document with the transcript (often on the reverse side) that explains their grading system. After you submit the application, use this as an excuse to call/email the schools to ask if they require clarification about the grades, at which point you can offer to tell them the unofficial grades you received. This is really not a big deal since you have a very high GPA.

By the way, I love your profile name. Is it intended to mean "diaper girl" or do you just like to sleep a lot? Haha....

Thanks everyone! The weeks before DAT time are so stressful. Flossopher, my profile name is a tribute to my dog.
