No class rank for OMFS residency applicant

How do program directors evaluate resident applicants if they’re coming from a school with no class rank? Do you need a higher CBSE to offset? Or is there an immediate turn away without the class rank?

This is pure opinion but schools that don't rank tend to be well regarded for OMFS programs (I'm sure there are exceptions).

My school didn't rank and 6/6 matched for the cycle and most of us had plenty of interviews. CBSEs ranged from 75-85 (old scale).

I feel that a poor rank pulls you down more than a good one boosts you up. Would defer to a PD on this though.

Cbse > Noncat > GPA/rank in terms of importance for your application.
