My undergrad institution doesnt have a pre-med committee, therefore, I must ask all my professors for individual letters etc. Does this hurt my chances of getting into a school? And will schools be able to tell I do not have committee? Or is it my responsibility to make sure the know?

Thanks!

It won't hurt your chances at all since you don't have control over it. Besides, even if it did (it doesn't at all), there's nothing you can do about it at this point anyways besides getting the best letters possible.

As for your second question, it is very regional specific. If the medical schools in your area know students in your school usually have a committee letter but you don't, it would raise a red flag for them. However, it isn't your responsibility to notify the school and the medical school will just assume your undergrad doesn't have a committee.

Consider it a good thing that your school doesn't have a pre-med committee.

Waiting for the committee letter to be completed was the worst part of the application cycle for me.

You should be celebrating that you don't have a committee!

Less hassle and no need to worry about being directly compared to students at your school.
