Hi,

I have no DO shadowing, but as I understand it, there are some schools which do not require a letter from a DO, and will accept a letter from a MD instead? Is this true? Does anyone know if there exists a list of which schools do and do not require a letter from a DO?

There's a few lists floating around on SDN. You can probably find it with a bit of searching.

I had no DO shadowing or letters from a DO. Received acceptances from DMU, COM and AZCOM. Not a necessity if you ask me but definitely important to know about the DO philosophy. I also worked directly with a DO and was able to talk about that experience FYI

Some schools claim to require them.

LMU-DCOM no longer requires a DO letter.

 

[AtlasCarraway]

Rocky Vista will accept an MD letter in lieu of a DO letter.
