I've applied to 40 schools many of them were suggested to me on the WAMC thread. I submitted most of my secondaries from mid-July to mid-August. I haven't heard anything back besides a "hold" from UCSD which is basically an R historically.

I'm starting to get worried as my friends who applied to similar schools have gotten IIs. I submitted many of my secondaries about 2 to 4 weeks after the received date. Should I send a letter of interest/update to schools?

I apologize for sounding neurotic. Any advice is appreciated!

Start preparing for interviews. Why medicine? Why did you apply here? Look for questions people might ask about your personal statement, research and ECs at the interview. You want to connect with the interviewer, project warmth, and provide genuine responses, not rehearsed ones. Good luck and best wishes!

Patience is a virtue, the need for instant gratification Is not.

Nit targeting you, OP, but SDNers are strongly advised to not think "I sent in my apps, where are all.my IIs???"

Prepare for interview. Prepare to reapply. Improve your credentials. And realize that schools stop sending out interview invitations between January and March.

Please see For us who have 0 II's .

Keep waiting. If you have no red flags, a decent school list, and checked the boxes on clinical and nonclinical volunteering, you should get IIs. Maybe send out some DO applications if you don’t get an II in the next couple of weeks.
