Let's get something going here. Post how many schools you have applied to, mailing date, and rejections (if any). It's assumed if you're posting on this that you haven't got an interview yet.

Applied: 10
Mailing Date: 7/23/10
Rejections: 2 (UNLV and Nova)

My DAT scores aren't great, so I'm assuming that is one reason for the rejections.

You guys have great stats. You'll get interviews. Focus your energy into contemplating who you are, what makes you unique and how you'll respond to common questions.
 
Look at the bright side...I just saved a ton of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico. 👍

...in all seriousness, you'll get some, don't worry. 👍
 
It's still pretty scary. Silence before a big boom. I'm still scared even though my apps are not completed at any school yet. Stupid secondary.

Applied to 16 schools... getting nervous but I didn't apply super early. Submitted July 25th. App complete Aug 20th. Still need to finish up a few secondaries too.

I am looking at most of your mailing dates here just to let you guys know that the first month alone each school has more than 1k app sitting on their desk... be patient. Good luck

Don't stress out. Go find someone to watch some episodes of House with and impress them when you know 1% of the science words they throw out. Guaranteed way to make yourself feel better. :meanie:
 
Wow, seriously sometimes the people on SDN scare me with their amazing statistics. It makes me feel inadequate at times....

I'm beginning to wonder if 20/20/20 is just an average score. It's hard to believe that 20AA is in the 90some percentile. It seems like almost everyone has well on the DAT.
 
All of you who are applying to 20, 19, 15, and even 10 schools are blowing my mind right now!!!😱 How do you find the time/money to do such a thing? Those secondary apps gotta be killers! Eventually, most of you will get interviews, lots of schools have just now started handing interviews out.

How did you get two interviews if you can't even spell correctly? haha jk, but this is a thread for peeps with no interviews. Zip, zilch, nada! That's me. What's worrying me is that I am one of the earlier applicants on this thread and I haven't got anything. So sad. 🙁 my roommate who applied to med school this summer as well already has 3.

SERIoUSLY why don't I have any interviews? Makes me super super super sad...I actually got really mad at people at my house because I saw that two people got NYU interviews and poor little mua didn't....

A question for this thread:
Would you engage in "relations" with an adcom member if it guaranteed a spot at your dream school? Just a good ol' ethics question I'm curious about. 🙄

I'm starting to freak out a bit even though as far as I know only two of the schools I applied (NYU and Penn) to have begun inviting people for interviews. I was in the first mailing for AADSAS, but my second science LOR wasn't sent until August 13th!!!! Does this mean I wont hear anything for another two weeks or so?
 
I keep checking AADSAS and nothing is changing :-( my letters came in so late :-(

hellll nooo! thats just wrong. plus you could get blackmailed by said adcom or by a classmate if he discovers this. imagine if word gets out when you start practicing...your entire career would be over!!!

there is a line between wanting to be a dentist vs. having no self respect. instead of fighting for it fairly like the rest of the people, considering getting into d school through the nasty shortcut seriously puts a big question mark on your ethics and your qualification as a future health professional.

It was a joke; my sarcasm must have been picked up on. Don't worry, I'll be fantastic and professional. I'd be cautious to make accusations and judgements about someone you don't even know.

it's not that i picked on you, sometimes what you decide to let out and how you portray yourself creates a perception of you in people's mind. You might not intend for your words to be taken a certain way, but you just gotta be careful as emotions don't always deliver in the cyberspace.
 
Agreed. I also meant to say "must not have" in that previous post. Oops. I think the beauty of SDN, and forums alike, is that one may post under almost total anonymity, so there really aren't many repercussions for posting scandalous things (of course besides admin shutting down the thread). 😛
