I submitted my amcas and got verified but I haven't recieved any secondaries. Though I still haven't taken the MCAT's, should I be worried?

most schools don'dt screen for numbers....you will probably get these soon enough. for schools that do screen, they might make their way to you slower, but it seemed like all the schools i applied to sent out their secondaries to everyone. the key thing w/ late MCATers are being complete late. 👎

I'm pretty sure most schools will be glad to take your application fee, MCAT or not.

Its really early to be receiving secondaries. So relax. Most schools just got the AMCAS information this week.

I'd say more than half of schools don't screen for secondaries - these will give you a secondary without the MCAT but will not review your application for an interview until after they get your MCAT score.

You should start getting secondaries in mid-July/late-July - thats when the flood really starts. And tons more in August. More screened ones in September.

Go through the mdapps and find people who put dates to all their schools (there are several around here who did - mine is one of them). That will give you an idea of when you will receive what. You can also look at the secondary questions thread of last year to get an idea.

My point is DON'T START WORRYING NOW!! If you're worrying already you're going to kill yourself by next fall.

I love you.

Regarding the message in your signature, too bad the US followed up the stunning Gold Cup victory with a disgraceful 1-4 loss to Argentina in the Copa America. Granted they were missing a lot of the top guns, but on the international stage you can't come with excuses...

I don't think you should be worried. It probably just depends on where you applied. For instance, I don't believe any of the 6 Chicago MD schools have sent out any secondaries. And while some schools screen for a minimum gpa/MCAT, the great majority don't. So not receiving secondaries means absolutely nothing so early in the season.

Anyway, as an example, I don't have my MCAT score yet, but I've received nine secondaries so far. Granted, I'm going to wait to fill some of them out after I get my MCAT score to see where I stand, but I am getting started on a number of them now. I'm sure you'll get some soon. I've noticed that some people get a secondary for a school I've applied to several days before I do. I'm guessing many schools send the secondaries out in batches, or differentiate between instate and out of state applicants. So just because you see posts about a certain secondary going out doesn't mean you should worry if you don't have it too. Good luck.
