Hey everyone, I transmitted late august with a 508 MCAT and 3.55 GPA to about 20 MD schools. I have had two rejections from two of them already but havent even received a secondary yet from some. Wondering if it probably means that I was thrown to rejection pile since I am not even getting secondary invites? Why dont schools just send out rejections?

You've submitted just a little over a month ago, it's not surprising that you haven't heard back yet - and if anything your application may be in the "deferred decision pile."

To quote @Goro , "Patience is a virtue, the need for instant gratification is not."

Don't worry yet. I'm very similar to you (509 MCAT / 3.52 GPA) and I submitted secondaries in late August too. I just today heard back from my first school and got an II. Not to mention I applied to far fewer schools than you.

My point is, you've got a chance if I've got one and like many here say: No need to freak out until around Thanksgiving.

Congrats on the II! I submitted in late August with the same MCAT score but no responses yet so hopefully I'll start to hear something soon too

Because they get anywhere from 5000 to 15000 apps and don't have time to go through them all. In addition, schools stratify the apps as they come in and don't send out IIs merely in chronological order.

What was your school list? You're a < avg candidate, but still competitive. Hence, you're crowded out for most of the early IIs by more competitive people.
