So all the seats at my testing site are filled for all the September test dates. If I check daily and especially 2 weeks before the test, how likely will I get lucky to steal a seat?

I know this is a difficult question to answer. Please answer based on your experience.

I think the best time to check for seats is right after scores get release. Some may register for a date after their exam only to drop it once they see their satisfied scores. Keep on looking. Have you tried going farther testing centers?

Very likely. It happens literally all the time, even when not particularly close to exam times or release dates. Just being patient and checking frequently allowed me to snag the most competitive time slots on multiple occasions.

Should I wait and hope to get lucky for my desired location to have a seat open up? Or should I register for a location 1.5 hours away?

I was in the same boat, and first registered for the somewhere 3 hours away, and then changed it to my ideal location. Sucks to have to pay even more to change it, but I didn't want to risk not getting a seat close by at all.

Definitely register for the further location, and check constantly! People drop like flies as the test date gets closer. I made the registration page my homepage and was able to nab my August 16 spot at a test site 20min from my home 🙂
