No viable interview dates before scheduling deadline?

I was trying to schedule an appointment with a certain school earlier and the only three days they offered me were coincidentally days that I will be traveling to other schools. They informed me that I need to schedule my interview by Monday, so I should call back tomorrow to see if any other dates open up. When I asked what would happen if no other dates open up by Monday, the receptionist couldn't give me an answer.

Has anyone run into this same problem? It seems like quite the coincidental match-up, but I just thought I'd ask. Hopefully if nothing else opens up by Monday, they'll be able to work with me.
