MD & DO Non competitive psych programs?

Have some red flags and ended up with step 2 in 230s so I am wondering what I should look for to choose non competitive psychiatry residency programs? Do I choose programs with a lot of DOs and IMGs and community hospitals?


Also, are there programs out there that are considered malignant? For example, I have heard that IM residencies in NYC with a lot of IMGs are malignant.

Generally, geographic location will be the most significant driving factor for desirability once you leave the big names. Rural programs typically have a more challenging time filling spots.
