hi.....im a pain doc but have a general question for the forum. I have a staff member who missed her last period almost 2 weeks ago. So that makes her last menses 6 weeks ago but she doesnt remember when the pregnancy actually occurred. I seem to remember waaaaay back when i did ob/gyn that there is a way to induce a period even a few weeks after with a short pulse of highe doses of OCP's. Can someone refresh my memory? Or is a d+c the only way to go?

thx in advance

Looks like I'm the first one who's seen your post....

This forum doesn't usually offer any medical advise. The staff member will need to see her own ob/gyn, family doctor or planned parenthood to discuss her options.

Yes there are medical abortion options available. She needs to see an Ob/Gyn and discuss her situation.

thx.....i can understand if the answer isnt fit for public consumption...feel free to IM me. I actively post in the pain physician's forum. I will try to catch one of the ob's in my hospital in the doctors lounge.

Sounds like she could be a candidate for Mifeprex; she will have to find a provider that has access to it which might mean going to Planned Parenthood or something similar
