Non-flight travel for NYC to Boston

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Take the greyhound bus or chinatown bus. You will be dropped off at South station or in Chinatown which are both close to each other.

Take the subway ("T") orange line to Mass Avenue if you are adventurous and walk the rest of the way (this is not the greatest neighborhood).

Otherwise check with BU on the best way to get to the campus from South station.

chinatown bus all the way!! there are several carriers..i've used "Fung Wah". they have been professional, timely and clean. i dunno about teh other tour companies. incidentally there is an article on the chinatown bus in the nytimes today. check it out (it should be online too). bottom line, the author had a lousy experience but she did mention that it wasn't the fung wah tour but another operator.

peter pan used to also run from port authority to south staiton in boston but i dunno if they still do (or if greyhound has taken over them). the price differential is quite large between chinatown bus and the larger companies though (almost a 20 dollar difference). have fun!!

I rode a Chinatown bus last night from the Bean to the Big Apple. Do a search on Google, because there are a couple other companies not listed in this thread so far. I rode Boston Deluxe ($15 instead of $10 for most of the others) because I didn't want to be dropped off in Chinatown in NY owing to where I live in Manhattan.

PS The path between DC and NY and Baltimore and NY is also well worn by Chinatown buses (as is, I believe, Philly, but I've never ridden that myself).

check out www.ivymedia.com, another chinatown bus company. Thats what I'll be using to go up to boston
