I haven't seen anyone mention this. Thoughts?

Seems like a sweet deal, but I wonder is there truly such a great demand for a pediatron trained as such and would the pay justify the year of fellowship? I envision a very nice lifestyle devoid of much of the crap that I hate about general peds (hoping for cards) still seeing the patient population I like and doing meaningful work. Meaning, sounds too good to be true, I wonder what the downside not presented is. HMMM.

1 year fellowship is nothing. There is not a single field in all of pediatrics that has that short fo a fellowship. Even academic general pediatrics is a three year fellowship. Who knows what the pay would do, but I imagine it would be better than general peds. It sounds like the orthopedic surgeons want more OR time and less time in clinic working up these patients that potentially do not need surgery. The only downside is that you would have to interact with orthopedic surgeons on a daily basis, which I imagine would make you dumber over time.
