I will be applying to western and I wanted to know if they absolutely require a letter of rec from a non-science professor. Can i substitute that with a letter of rec from the doctor I did clinical research under? I have asked a non-science prof for a letter but I am afraid he would not write a great one. 😕

I looked at my application instructions from last year:

A. MD or DO (DO preferred)

B. committee letter (must include two sci)
or
C. three letters from professors (two sci and one non-sci)
[if professor decides to write letter on official letterhead in lieu of their forms, professor should state what course they taught you in]

D. special requirements for those away from academia for 5+ years

You may be able to get permission to substitute a science letter for non-science, if you have a reason.
