This may seem like a stupid question, but what's the deal with non-science faculty. Sinia, UM, Harvard, other places too, I haven't technically gotten a LOR from a teach who was non-science, my premed advisor said she can write it for me. But are the schools really strict about that? Are they gonna check it? To me it seems like a formality, but so does washing my hands after I go to the bathroom. Just kidding.

depends on whos reviewing the file. I got a fairly junior person to write one just to fulfill the requirement. It didn't seem to hurt me, but obviously as with any aspect of your app - maximize whatever you can.

I emailed a couple of schools about the same thing, and they counted a college coach for me.

I wanted to use a math professor as my non-science, so I called all my schools up. Only NYMC didn't consider it a non-science, but they said it was ok anyway.

you people took too much damn science

😉 no, for me it was just that I finished college a few years ago and so had no contact with profs either in science or out - the whole getting LORs was a series of such issues for me therefore

ahsi ... i wouldn't worry too much, i'm sure you get a little leeway because of that. anyways, good luck
