Regarding the non-science LORs that some school requires, I am wondering if it has to be specifically from a non-science professor (i.e. psychology, history, English)? I am from a school that does not do committee letters, and I have 7 letters so far already (3 of which are "other" letters, but none from a non-science professor). Thanks!!

I'm in the same boat as well. I have 5 LORs, 2 from science professors, 2 from my college coaches, and one from one of my high school teachers that I am still close with. I have called the admissions offices of the schools I am applying to and they said that the LORs from the coaches could substitute as the non-science letters since they are employees of the university, but they also seemed somewhat confused and unsure when I asked them. The only one I know for sure that said it absolutely had to be a non-science professor was Creighton. Check out my MDApps thing and hopefully some of our schools overlap and that will help you out a bit.

I believe they ask for non-science letters to see what your professors from your non-science coursework think of you. Usually most premeds are strong in the sciences, so they want to see your non-science side.
