I'm a non-trad who's looking to apply this summer. Ideally I will apply in very early June after taking the DAT in May. My cGPA is 3.91 and sGPA is a 4.0, but at the time of application I will be missing 3 pre-reqs (two of which will be completed in the June/July) and will have no upper-division biology courses. I work 30hrs a week so I couldn't go the full 15hours/semester that would've eliminated this problem.

I know a lot of schools really like their applicants to have these udb credits. Should I be waiting a year until I have all my pre-reqs done and way more bio credits? The thing is, I'll essentially be in 9 hours of udb in the Fall amid the interview season, and have the option of taking as many more in the following spring as I want, so I can reflect that on my application.

I'm nervous because I don't want to waste an application cycle, and I'd really like to get into my state school. Should I just worry about crushing the DAT and continue on my path? Thanks!

On the application you list what classes you plan to take in the coming year. I majored in a non-science field so I have almost no science classes other than the pre-reqs, and I even took those at cc. I ended up getting into 2 schools with several pre-reqs still to take and no udb, so it's definitely possible. Plus your GPA is, you know, OKAY I guess 😉
