early 30s, married with kids, starting pod school this year. uGPA-3.0 in biology/chem. Masters in Biomedical Sciences - 3.9 GPA. Never applied to DO or MD schools before. Took the MCAT with 3 wks notice (minimal prep) for pod school - 21. Shadowed a podiatrist for a while and liked it and apllied. Why thinking about switching? scope of practice, different residency choices with DO, reimbursement issues with podiatry, other personal reasons, and etc, etc.
My plan - attend pod school, and apply since we already are planning to move (I know...expensive and waste of time and so forth) 😱. My questions: Has anyone here switched from pod school or know of anyone who did? What and how was the process? Obviously I am going to retake the MCAT which is fine but how are my GPAs? What is the minimum MCAT score for me and my GPAs? All honest opinions and feedback are welcome😉

Nova has a 3 yr program specifically for people switching from pod school to DO. I saw it on their website. I can't really give you any specifics, but I think it may be worth surfing their website.
