Hey I'm shooting for osteopathic schools but CCOM is my primary goal, as its in state. I'd go anywhere in the US though if i stood a chance to be honest.

Undergraduate GPA should be ~ 3.0 - 3.1 when i'm finished with my masters degree due to course replacement. I'm taking classes over the summer ect. to replace poor course grades I took as an undergrad. My graduating GPA was ~ 2.3 so I've retaken / will finish retaking about 20 hours of classes.

When I graduate next year / year and a half I'll have a masters degree in biology with many advanced courses under my belt and a masters GPA of ~ 3.6 - 3.7 . I'm pretty much done with my degree course wise, however the degree requires a thesis, which may take a year or so more. Also I may have published work at the time of graduation, but that is uncertain as of now.

So... two questions :

Suppose I do decently on the MCAT (I test well and study) and get a ~30 , would I have a shot at osteopathic schools? Or will that poor uGPA haunt me even with course replacement and a masters degree?

I had gotten a D in a biochem course as an undergrad. However, for my masters degree I had to take an upper level biochem course. Both are titled biochem I , the masters level one is just a hell of a lot harder. Will I be able to replace the old biochem grade with the harder course?

Thank you

*Forgot to ask I also have no volunteer experience. I was thinking of just checking any local hospices to see if they need volunteers. Would this be okay or should I just volunteer in a hospital setting?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know it's a weird situation but I wasn't really even considering medical school for awhile now since my GPA was so bad. I just want to know if its feasible at this point with those stats.
