Just wondering what my chances might be for applying to derm? After med school I did an intern year in medicine and then did three years of flight medicine in the Air Force. Mostly primary care type stuff with a bunch of deployments. I did plenty of extra training revolving around ER/trauma skills, but nothing really with derm, its just always been an interest. I have a strong letter from the end of intern year, and a very strong Derm contact. Step scores are 227/242, so step one probably not too competative. I know EM and family programs like people with prior clinical experiance, I don't have much of a grasp on what derm thinks about this, or are they just overly focused on step one scores?

I'm less qualified than others to speak about your competitiveness, but may be able to help if you do choose to apply. I'm currently applying as a Navy UMO and have had a positive response so far in regard to interview offers. I could probably pass along some useful gouge, so feel free to PM me and I'd be happy to help.
