Just wondering if anyone knows some mid-tier IM programs with excellent clinical teaching (diverse patients, sick population, ample critical care experience, great teaching staff) that don't burn you to the bone with scut work and malignancy. Excellent meaning significantly above average rather than just good, as I'm sure all mid-tiers provide good enough training. I don't have the CV or grades to match top places so I'm now looking more at mid-tier programs that will fit my goals.

I'm aware these programs may be rare and that I might be looking for something that doesn't exist, but I'm wondering if anyone happens to know any that match this description. Preferably east coast as that's where I plan on geo signaling.

There’s no such list. Academic faculty turnover is faster than the time it takes to build a reputation. You’re vibes on interview day, common perception based on ranking, and location/program structure are what you have to go off of.
