I am a three year applicant this year, and i was wondering if there are any three year apps out there already in dental school who regret cutting out their final year of undergrad? To me it seems that if I do get in for the 2007 cycle I'll save a years tuition and a lot of course work that I will probably repeat in dental school anyways. But advice is appreciated

don't you think your life would be incomplete without that bachelors hanging on your office wall 20 years from now?

Let's think of it this way, I could take my first two years after dental school and take the 8 more courses I will need in the evenings, while making money as a dentist thus not racking up more debt to pay off while in school, thats if I feel my wall needs more Plaque

No regrets. I was able to finish by B.S. in dental school without repeating classes....and don't let anyone tell you you need the last year to do well in dental school - you're obviously doing well now and will continue to do so.

Some schools take 3 year students more than others and I say go for it if the school you want to go to lets you in. Here it seems only underrepresented minorities can go that route. Heck they can bomb the DAT too. Otherwise, a degree is almost required at some schools.

While what servitup says is partially true - and may be more so at their school - it is not the rule. I had a number of solid options as a non-minority 'nontraditional' applicant. Best of luck :luck:
