It is still unreal to see people that feel compelled to bring up the URM issue just because someone was offered scholarships or even received an acceptance..amazing. Of course we URM's have nothing else in our application that stands out except that we are a minority sheesh.
there, there now - let it all out. don't you feel better now? we all know how little it actually mattered for that full ride. {wink, wink}.

WTF? it had nothing to do with my backgroung and more with my GPA/MCAT/research/pubs/lor's/international presenter background/volunteering/etc..why do you keep being such an a$$hole? does it make YOU feel better?

Yes, I lived in Madrid for many years.

BTW there *are* scholarships out there for URM's exclusively and for women exlclusively...there are also "merit" based scholarships that have nothing to do with where you came from but more with academics. I am not going to get into some pissing contest with a poster with less than 100 posts. Good luck to all of you!

btw, for the record (and for those of you keeping score at home), that was a total guess on my part -- female urm. can you believe i nailed it based on two words - "full ride?"

{i need to be on some sort of game show or something. alex trabek, where are you when i need you...}

You must not be in medical school because there are folks in pretty much every medical school class that get FULL RIDES so do your homework. Do not assume that female and full ride means URM. I am sure that you guessed yup...you are quite an instigator..

no, no, i assumed that "full ride" meant female + urm.

at any rate, you've convinced me. you've taught me a lesson that i won't soon forget, and you've won this time, dammit all. please let me leave now with my tail between my legs so that i might return another day...

Can we leave the pettiness and rudeness with the Pre-Allo forum? We non-trads are supposed to be wiser and more mature, right?

housecleaning likes to spread the joy of trolling all over sdn. bashing urm's and osteopathic students appear to his primary hobbies. don't pay attention to anything he says.

thanks for the tip..I assumed as much...there used to be an ignore member button right? I cannot seem to find it...

Go into the user's profile and you'll find it on the right side of a dark blue bar (if you're using the default color scheme) under their avatar. On the left it says "Add efex101 to Your Buddy List" and on the right it says "Add efex101 to Your Ignore List" (as an example).
