Hello doctors of the SDN community,

What do you call the procedure of checking a person's spine for injury after a MVA? It's the one where you role the patient onto there side and push along the spine and ask if it hurts? I am a volunteer at a hospital and am writing my PS for med school, but I wanted to be specific about the actual procedure performed.

Thanks

Palpating for point tenderness along the vertebrae to asses for fractures. At this time youre also looking for bruising, fractures, entrance/exit wounds...

Part of your secondary trauma survey. Basically after the A-B-Cs are done you do a thorough look-n-see of every inch of the patient.

Dont know what would make it so interesting to write about, but see what you can come up with!

Write: Active involvement in primary and secondary survey of trauma patients👍

Is that what its for??? Damn and all this time I thought we were looking for post-traumatic vertebral somatic dysfunctions... 😉

If youre good you can do that at the same time as well. Perhaps some of us do. 😉
