Hi guys, I'm an MS2 writing a case report and I'm stuck on this concept.

Aphakia means an eye without a lens. However, in cataract patients who've had an IOL implanted, are they still called aphakic because they don't have a natural lens?

Go ahead and make fun of me.

An eye with an IOL is pseudophakic.

Relax, don't be so hard on yourself. People make it through med school and (non ophtho) residency without knowing anything about the eye. We all start somewhere.

Congratulations. You now know more about the eye than 99% of your class.
