Can anyone offer any insight in regards to Noorda? For it being a newer school, I’ve honestly heard a lot of good things about it. In particular, how’s the location/vibes there? I’m from Los Angeles so I’m hoping to go somewhere with a city vibe.

I’ve already been accepted to Burrell, and I have an interview at Noorda coming up and I just want to see if it’s worth it to interview or if I should cancel it so someone else can have a shot in getting in. For context, I’m a queer Latinx woman, so I want to attend a school with a diverse and inclusive population. Thank you all for your insight!

You will likely find the best info from current students who post in the school-specific threads when answering applicants' questions:

The city it is in is nice, but is entirely LDS. It would be quite a shift from LA (particularly if you lived downtown and had access to a wide array of urban amenities). I do not believe federal loans are available still for students though at Noorda. So keep that in mind with any other interview options you have.

I’m at Noorda! Definitely a lot of queer Latina women here! Noorda has a decent size LGBTQ population. And we have a lot of people from Southern California. In my class alone we have 32 students from California. Being a non-LDS in Provo I think is fine. A lot of students at Noorda are not LDS, but they still like living in Provo. Very safe place. However there’s no bars or pubs! We literally have to travel to SLC (1 hour drive) for some drinks. There’s actually one bar in downtown Provo, but it’s tiny and sucky.

Fr the city size doesn't really make a difference to me. I grew up in San Diego and lived in NYC for a bit, but i'm far too busy to explore how big/small Provo is lol.
