Hello guys,

I am a Canadian student in a Canadian university.
My question is would US dental schools have a problem with me completing a regular bachelor of science degree instead of honours (major is biology)? I will be in my 4th year when I apply. The reason why I want to do regular bachelor is because I don't enjoy all the biology courses that I have to take just to fulfill credits.

So the only difference for me is taking less biology courses, that's all.

Any opinions/ideas are welcome,

Thanks in advance,

Graduated from the honors college in my school ... never brought up during interviews.

Though putting 'honors' beside the honor courses on AADSAS was strangely satisfying.

I had the same thought at some point in my sophomore year. I wasn't sure whether or not I should apply to the Honors College at my school and if that would make me a more competitive applicant. I sought the advice of my Pre-Dental advisors. They told me that while it may be in your favor, it will not matter if you are in the Honors College if you have strong volunteering, shadowing and extracurricular activities. You have to show that while you may not be taking on some of these more challenging classes, you're doing something to improve your application. That's not to say that being in Honors College doesn't mean anything, it would definitely be a plus. But it won't be detrimental not to join so long as the other parts of your application are strong and you are a well-rounded applicant. I hope this helps!
