Normal drop out rate

A well established do school that I know had like 270 incoming students but only 250 trying to match. Does that sound normal that around 10% will not make through the med school?

Let me apologize if this post is redundant. I did check aacom's chart, which says 4year attrition rate on average for all do schools are like 12%ish.

I just wonder how high the drop out rate is a red flag for us applicants, that suggests the school does not try very hard to keep the kids there and become a doctor.

1. Were these numbers 4 years apart? ( for example, incoming 2014 and trying to match in 2018?)
2. If yes, there are many factors that can explain this. First, some take more than 4 years to graduate for various reasons.

Yes, I wonder how many percent of people among that 12 percent were due to personal reasons. And even then I wonder if the school supports the students with problem handling stress will make a big difference in attrition rate?

7.5% attrition is completely normal.

Yep, wouldn't be surprised by 250 graduating from a class of 270. There are plenty of personal/professional/academic factors that take place over the course of four years that lead to people either leaving the class of extending their graduation.
