Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone had any information on Northeastern's post bac program and whether it would be worth doing? I am debating between that and the program at Harvard Extension. Here are my stats:

Undergraduate cGPA 2.71 (Non-traditional)
Undergraduate sGPA 3.35 (two classes)
Graduate cGPA 3.30
Significant volunteer work.

I was inquiring about Northeastern's post bacc program and spoke to some staff there but I was really turned off by the program. It's not structured and you're essentially just going there taking the classes you need and then you're out. At that point it's better to just take courses at your state university. There is little to none guidance catered to and for post bacc students so it's like you're just taking undergraduate courses there and are like any other student.

I am in the very same boat. Here is what I learned after speaking to many HES's current and former students:
  • It's well priced
  • The courses are rigorous, yet don't depend on them to prep you for the MCAT
  • IF you get in and do well, you will get a letter of recommendation after paying $500 to get SPONSORED
  • The price per class is $1400 ($467/ unit)
  • No books required, for the most part, but material is all provided in the Lecture notes
Otherwise at NE:
  • There isn't a GPA cut off, and you're not in an official degree or certificate program. BUT, they do spell it out quite well as to what you should do moving forward. See here https://web.northeastern.edu/prehealth/
  • The price is I believe $512/ unit, and they just switched to the semester system
  • Not sure about the study materials yet
