If anyone else's Northwertern status-check page not working (at all)?

I get some strange error when pulling up my file.

Oh, well
W

not to be the bearer of bad news or anything... especially since i could be wrong.
but i thought someone said that if you get an error when checking the status page, that means you're rejected?

is that true?!?!
i haven't heard from northwestern either.

This is not a blank page. You cannot even get on the front page. Definitely a sign that they are updating the website. Good luck to all who await a decision.

My page is still working and still has that "Your application is still under consideration" message. The committee meets for round 2 reviews today! Hope we all get some closure soon, and may it be some great news. Good luck everyone. 😛

I know many of us are waiting to hear, so please post if you get the mysterious, but definitely exciting message of "A final decision has been made". At this point in the game I think that it definitely means good news.
🙂

So I guess this means no one has gotten the "A Decision has been made" message yet? I'm dying to find out!!

I randomly checked my status on their website and it said I can schedule an interview. It said the invite was mailed out on Feb 13.

Can somone post the link to the online status check for Northwestern. I can't seem to find it anymore.

Thanks

I'm still under consideration as well....the weird thing is that under "Letters of Recommendation", there is nothing noted. But under Application Status, it says "Complete". Anyone else have that problem?

BTW, thanks for the link Original.

Still waiting for a change in status. anyone get it yet?

Not yet. Interviewed January 15, so I'm not sure if I _will_ hear anything this time. Good luck to everyone!

hey urlacher (nice name btw), i interviewed there on the 15th also...small world, eh?

dukeblue01, you better post as soon as your status changes! i just checked and mine hasn't yet.... i think if it doesn't change soon, that means WL, right? anyone else interview in early december hear anything??

Hey everyone,

I don't think the status-check page is very accurate. I received an acceptance several weeks ago, and my status page still says that my application is under consideration.

Good luck!

Alice,
I think that we are still in the game. They gave mid December on their website as the date for a decision last round, and did not alert anyone until Dec. 21st. So maybe a few more days??? I think the waiting post-interview is much worse than pre-interview!!!
But, if we don't receive a status change this round, we still have a chance (albeit small). It just means we were not selected this round, and will still be considered for the final round in March. I have been checking each day and have received no change. I hope that someone on this board will alert us to a change if they get one. Hopefully we all will get one soon.

I just called Nwestern. I haven't interviewed there yet, and they told me that my file is "currently under review." Its been "under review" since september, so I guess they just can't figure out what to do with my file!

I got a blank page as of today morning.

I am expecting a rejection letter soon.

I just cancelled my interview, so hopefully one of you will get my spot. Good luck!

Ruh Roh....
I get the blank status page at Nortwestern now. I guess I can expect my very first pre-interview rejection. Sweet!

dukeblue01 - thanks for your note on the columbia thread. i wanted to write you back and be sure you'd get my note. i figured you'd be checking here.

first, thank you for being so nice and supportive. second, GOOD LUCK with NUMS and UVA and wherever else your heart desires. i will withdraw from UVA asap and put in a good word

i absolutely loved northwestern -- and here's my little secret you may have figured out from reading my other posts: i am 90% sure we were on the panel together and you were awesome! i was very impressed by your articulate and sincere responses. i also really enjoyed chatting with you throughout that long day! i am sorry that we won't be classmates! northwestern, stanford and columbia were all my number one. columbia wins because they accepted me first. and also because i am a new yorker and excited to go home to my friends and family.

i had thought that as soon as i got into the school i'd matriculate at, i'd stop checking sdn. it's only been a few hours, but i doubt i'll be a stranger. i wanna find out how things go with you and all the other awesome folk here. i will let you know of course if any status changes happen (i checked before i heard from p n s and nothing.... the waiting is excruciating!)

GOOD LUCK AND THANKS AGAIN FOR THINKING OF ME!!!!

Just wanted to let everyone know. I called Northwestern today and the woman at the admissions office informed me that the Febuary 15 decision date was moved back until March 1 so not to worry if you don't hear anything until then. So far they have only had one decision date and that was in the middle of December.

Skrantz, Thanks for putting us at ease. What is going on with this school? Pretty slow I'd say...

my app has been complete since october and i have been getting the "your file is currently under review" message ever since then. TALK ABOUT SLOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW

I know its just a detail, but I'm wondering if they will get some updates I am sending them in time for the review (interviewed 1/4/02).
Of course I will still send the info regardless.
Thanks for the info...

I was at Northwestern in the last week, and the dean said they would be sending out decisions next week for the people who interviewed "before." I don't know if that means "before" my interview or "before" February.

But, she said that they will have all decisions made by the end of March. Actually she said, "if you don't have a piece of paper in your hand on the last day in March, go ahead and call us."

On a side note, for those of you who have been offered an interview and are debating whether or not to go, I would say definitely go! I was so much more impressed with the school after being there and spending the day. The students were awesome and seemed so laid back! Best students I have talked to so far! I can't believe I'm actually considering paying so much to go there, but there was just something about it...

I got a blank status page yesterday. All I have to say is thank God the waiting for this school is over.

My file was complete October 10th, and I just got the blank page too. Oh well.

I'm still under consideration.

I got the blank page as of this weekend. Well, I called them and they said my letter was on the way. . damn rejections.

I just got the blank page. Oh well. I didn't really want to pay $30K+/year for that school anyway, and I never did look good in purple. 😀

Hey all. I just got the blank page today too (I have been complete since 11/06). Oh well, who the hell really wants to go to a med school named the "Feinberg School of Medicine" anyway? Sell-outs...no I'm not bitter. Ciao.

I've been blanked by NU. I was complete Sept 17. oh well. 😡

Does anyone else think that giving you a blank page is a pretty crappy way of giving you the boot? Very passive-agressive. They need to take a lesson from Caveman and tell it like it is; a big page with 72 point font, saying "REJECTED". That would get the job done better than a freakin' blank page.

Scheesh.

is anyone else having trouble today logging onto the Northwestern Status page, or getting an error message???

hey all--
I don't think you should consider the blank page as a rejection. I have an interview scheduled in two weeks and I tried to go to the site today and got blanked too!
i think its more general..

Today's the apparent decision day for some of us! Hopefully we do hear next week. Good luck!

•I got the blank page too...oh well, I guess being an alum doesn't help.•••••it's actually harder for alums to get into NUMS than students from other schools because so much of their class is filled with HPMEs so they look elsewhere for the rest of their class, for the sake of diversity, i guess. lots of schools tend to look elsewhere for their acceptances so i guess it's not that unusual.

NUMS actually accepts a good number of non-HPME Northwestern students. In the first year class right now, there are 12 of them. For people who don't know, HPME is the Honors Program in Medical Education which allows high school students to take 7 years at NU (3 undergrad, 4 med).

They just recently started the NUPSP program, the NU Pre-med Scholars Program, which is like applying for HPME as a junior instead of as a high school student. This pretty much lets current juniors apply for NU med without taking the MCAT. There are 5 or 6 NUPSP students taken each year, so I'm not sure if they're counted toward those 12 non-HPME Northwestern students accepted. I don't think they are.

Anyway, NUMS accepts about 10 alum give-or-take every year. I think that's a lot.

I think that's a lot.•••••i guess it boils down to what your definition of 'a lot' is. 10 NU alums out of a class of around 150 is definitely not 'a lot' to me!!! surely not all of these 10 are seniors--many probably have been out of school for some time and might have done some amazing things in the time since. i do know that pritzker takes more of its own undergrads than students from any other school. i'm sure that it comes out to be about the same for NUMS except that many people don't realize that the majority of these students are HPME (something like 60 students per class) and thus aren't accepted the traditional, take-the-MCAT-and-sweat-out-the-application-process way. maybe NUMS has changed its ways since i was an undergrad but in my entire college career i only knew *one* person who got into NUMS (i'm an NU alum). and no, i didn't hang out with *****s... 😀

just wondering if anybody heard from northwestern post-interview. i interviewed on jan. 4th and i'm still anxiously awaiting a decision. is it true that they've mailed decisions on march 1st?
