I applied to NW, and I was complete back in August-- no word, no interview, no rejection. I know people have started to see acceptances and rejections-- anybody else in the same boat? Havent been interviewed or rejected yet for some odd reason? Aside from the acceptances or waitlists, anybody know of any status changes on the website at all [rejects (sorry 😉 ) what does it say now?]

i got my rejection from them (post-secondary with no interview) about 2 or 3 weeks ago and my status page still says the same thing it always said - just the date i was complete and their little "if an indication blah blah blah" thing. my guess is that they never change that status page unless they interview you.

I'm in the same situation - rushed to get my secondary back within 2 weeks, back in August, and still no word..

I think they've got a few more interviews left, but they're done with all their decisions by the beginning of February. They only sent out a couple acceptances/rejections right before Thanksgiving - the rest of us have to wait (I interviewed back in September). So, I wouldn't give up hope just yet, but the door is closing soon.

Same here. I'm not sweating it. The 2-week deadline thing definitely is bull****. Oh well... they aren't my top choice, though I would be interested to check out the group interview, and see what they have to offer. Mayby interview day would change my mind...

They do have pretty buildings.

I am also in the same boat. Complete mid-August, and nada. They do get a ridiculous amount of applications though. I guess if I didn't stand out to them, it's their loss.

It's kind of funny. Over the summer, I thought NW was my top choice and I tried to make that pretty clear in my secondary. Now, I'm not so sure. It's hard to tell if you'll like a place until you go there for interview day, IMO. I thought I'd never ever want to go to Umich, b/c I've been in AA forever, but after interview day, I fell in love. I guess I don't know much about the rest of the university, besides the undergrad.

I would really like to get an interview at NW, though. I've always wanted to live in Chicago, and even if I don't get accepted, I can scope out the place for residency.

Anybody have any luck calling them? I haven't...

I called today, and I was told that they'll be sending the bulk of their post-secondary rejections out in March. 👎

Wow. I hope they continue to reivew the apps that are left until then.

Do you know how long they'll continue sending out interview invitations? Has anyone received an interview recently?
Complete late-july/early-august. No word.

Complete late September, nothing but crickets since.

Yeah same exact situation. Aug 4 complete if I remember right. I'm pretty much assuming no interview.

Word on the street is that they'll finish interviewing in late January; final decisions in early February. Sure bet that there are still some applications under review. Keep in mind that the odds of getting an interview are slim -- about 1 in 8 so you aren't alone if you don't get interviewed.

Oh darn...

I guess i can forget about NU...never really had a chance in hell to begin with.

waste of money

Complete in early August - actually managed to meet their ridiculous deadline! Rejected last month. The best thing about it: the rejection letter was dated on my birthday. I thought it was a nice gesture for them to think about me on my special day 🙂

me too

completed on august 8 to meet their crazy deadline.. and nothing

Misery loves company I guess...I was starting to get bummed out because I haven't heard anything from NW since being complete (September 16). At least I am in good company. I guess I was a little naive going into this application process, and assumed that "rolling" meant acceptances and rejections. But apparently these schools like to hang onto your app as long as possible and keep your hopes up, just to have them crushed with a rejection letter late in the season. 🙂

According to their web site, Northwestern doesn't have rolling admissions - just 2 decision points: late November and late February (according to the web site). I've previously reported that the rumor is that the late February decision is being moved to early February.
Thanks for setting me straight. I knew that, but must have had a brain lapse. Though I still stand by my statement for other rolling schools that like to keep us waiting. 🙂

Ridiculous amount of applications, no doubt. Almost one in five med school applicants applies there. They said they were expecting 7000 AMCAS applications this year. 😱
