I received a post card in the mail today, and was wondering if anyone else who interviewed at NU has received one of these:
As part of the employment process or as required by state law, your employer or potential employer has authorized the Verified program, a service of the Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council, to conduct a criminal background investigation. All criminal background checks are conducted pursuant to the requirements of the Uniform Conviction Information Act, the Healthcare Worker Background Check Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
As required by law, Verified is notifying you that the Illinois State Police reported no records of conviction and this investigation is now complete.
If you have any questions about this background investigation, please call Verified at XXX-XXX-XXXX.
I looked up the MCHC, and it seems to be an association of Chicago Hospitals and Medical Schools. At any rate, Northwestern is a member of this association, and I'm assuming they were the ones who asked for the background check to be run.
I interviewed at Northwestern in January; I'm guessing this is a good sign since they are at the point with my application that they've gone ahead and done this due diligence. Has anyone else recently received this postcard, or did anyone who was accepted in December received something similar back then?
