Hi all,

I have a quick question. I've been invited to an interview. On that school's secondary, I said that I would be taking postbacc classes through the university I work for. However, my employee benefits did not kick into effect until after classes started, so I was unable to sign up for this semester. Considering the school specifically asked if I am taking postbacc classes, should I update the school? Should I just mention it in my interview? As a side note, this school specifically states that they don't want update letters unless they specifically ask for it.

Thanks!!

If it makes a difference, I fully planned on doing these classes, and I still fully plan on doing these classes next semester. I just don't want the school to think I'm lying or anything.

Don't bother mentioning it unless they ask you about it - you're fine.

That is the reason little value is placed on planned or future activities.

Thanks for the reply! The only reason I am concerned is they asked specifically if I would be enrolled in postbacc classes on the secondary, which I answered yes. What should I say if they ask? Aren't transcripts required at the time of matriculation? This becomes more of a problem now that I've been accepted at another program.

If asked, you should explain it just as you did here - it seems reasonable.

Schools do require transcripts, but normally it is to verify AMCAS coursework and updated courses. Did you list specific courses you were enrolled in, or just a general statement. Were they prereq courses?

I am not sure what you mean about the other program.

No, I didn't add a list of classes. The question asked if I would be taking postbacc classes/ have been accepted to a postbacc courses, and I answered this question yes. I then said that I would be taking something like 15 credits over the year. I did not specify what classes I planned on taking, just that I planned on taking some courses. Would it still be alright?

Thanks for all of your help again!

And they were not prereq courses. I think I am just afraid that now that I've been accepted, it will be taken away. I suppose I could be being neurotic...

Like I said, plans change, and future activities are not contractually binding.

If you are worried, you can always call admissions and discuss it.
