So, I've taken a couple of summer classes that are still "in-progress" on my aadsas application. With the academic update period coming up, I'm trying to decide whether or not I should do the academic update. I've gone to two interviews so far (as well as 1 post-dec interview).
However, I did really bad on two of the four classes I've taken: a C in biochem and a C+ in a chem elective class (but got A and A- in two of my other science elective classes). Should I do the academic update? My initial thought was simply wait until I get an acceptance (or not even do it at all), but I'm afraid schools might be suspicious that I did not do the academic update before Dec. 1st. What should I do? I'd love to hear current dental students that had a similar situation last year. Thanks!

Yes, I understand they will eventually see it (and maybe even rescind my acceptance with a C in biochem if I do get in). However, the schools I've interviewed at do not know that I got a C in the class yet. Thus, updating my application in November may severely impact my chances on Dec 1st offers.

They won't rescind for a C in a hard class, now, if that was an F or even a D, they would probably require you to take the class again. What is your overall GPA, sGPA right now?

3.3 for both. Right now, I'm more concerned about whether or not I should do the academic update in November or do it later on (Late Dec or that is, AFTER I get an acceptance). I'm just concerned that if I do it later on, schools might re-evaluate my application near Dec 1st because I did not submit those summer grades yet. But at the same time, that C in biochem is gonna have a negative effect if I do submit it before Dec 1st. And I've had an upward trend over my last 6 quarters except that summer quarter.

Well, it's all due Feb 1st, so they'll be in eventually, lol. Not too sure on whether or not the admissions decision will be affected within the next 2 weeks.

If I were in your position I would update after Dec 1st. Potentially with your fall grades as SXCoronado said.

I am in the same position as you and I dont understand why people on this site have such a hard time of comprehending what someone is saying. It is very easy to understand. You don't want to do an update before december because if they see it, it might effect ur chances. Also if u get wait listed then your chances will be lowered as well if u show them ur grades. I would like to see more opinions on this.

Does anyone know how long AADSAS takes to recalculate your GPA after they receive your transcripts for the Fall grades update? Because when turning in the application for the first time, it takes them a while.
