total: 16 credits

no job, no volunteering. just herbing in the library.

too much?

From the listing of courses, this courseload seems a bit much, but I am suprrised that it accounts for only 16 units. I'm taking 4 classes for 17 units including:

Spanish 2
Chemistry I
Calculus I
U.S. History (needed for my bachelor's degree)

It's doable. I just want to give you a head up on Immunology. It requires a lot of reading. I had to read the entire book, page by page, for this class. I've never had to read the entire book for any of my other science classes. Immunology requires a lot of memorization as well as comprehension. But it was a fun/interesting class.

which program are you guys talking about?

and to the OP, that is quite a load. I had biochem (6 credits), physio (3 credits), biostats (2 credits) and genetics (4 credits) for my first semester at BUMAMS. I worked my ass off for my grades, at least 20 hrs/wk of studying.

so i guess you decided against BU?

well just so you know, all but spanish are classes you take in the BU program. study hard and you'll do fine here. sure grad/med level is going to be harder but man are you going to have a leg up.

Yea, you are crazy....
J/K...
Your courseload will surely look impressive to admission committees and will definitely give you a good amount of knowledge in the basic medical sciences. However, it is only worth it if you are confident that you will excel in these courses. If you are the type to go hang out a few times a month and plan to leave the library once in a while, it might be a good idea to reconsider the amount of time that you can invest studying for each of these subjects in order to get your desired grades. If you decide to do it, let the SDN spirit be with you.

I'll be at the BU post bac program this fall, I want to take Chem 1, Bio 1, and Physics 1 - all with labs, for a total of 12 credits. What do you guys think about this????
