I apologize if I am not in the right area so site admins/mods please feel free to correct me and in doing so, please remember to inform me where I should post this at.

Basically, I am 22, currently on Active Duty and I want to practice medicine. This is something I have been wanting to do since I was a kid(which was not that long ago) and I have a very big interest in Psychiatry. I have not taken my MCAT, and I am about 70 something credits from my Bachelors. I know I cannot even apply to MD School until I obtain my Bachelors, however, is there anything I could be doing right now other than figuring out what I need in order to take Organic/Inorganic Chem? Can anyone tell me, from start to finish, the process of applying to school to becoming an Attending in Psych? Please and thanks!

First of all, you can apply after you have obtained 90 credits. You need a bachelor's degree before matriculating (which you can complete during your application year).

Process:
Finish undergrad (probably 2 more years)
Go to med school (years I/II = bookwork, years III/IV = clinical)
Do residency in psychiatry (usually 4 years)
... all done.

Ok so as far as Inorganic/Organic Chemistry, and I apologize if this seems like a dumb question, is there a difference as far as psych goes? As far as right now goes, aside from working on my Bachelors, is there anything else I could do to assist myself in this process?

It doesn't matter about inorganic vs organic chem because you need to take them both anyway. As far as specialties, worry about getting into med school first and then you can think about that later. Who knows, maybe after you have finished rotations in med school you find another specialty that you will enjoy more. 🙂

P.s. If you are in the military sign up for this... http://lhh.tutor.com/?ProgramGUID=c3b475cf-2b0e-4c0f-97aa-e8499235744e . Although it says AF it is for all AD (regardless of branch) and their families. It is amazing and has helped me a LOT!!!

You know what is funny, I actually happen to be on AD in the AF and want very much to practice medicine in the military....Are you in yourself? By chance?
