I took the OAT 3days ago and got

QR 240
RC 320
BIO 330
GChem 240
OChem 250
PHY 250
TS: 260
AA 270

I've taken to OAT 4 times and can't seem to get to a 300 in the Chemistrys and Phy. I just don't know what to do about this. I feel like the only way to get any better is to completely retake these courses. I graduated from undergrad in 2008.

I was invited for an interview with PCO based on my GPA and remainder of my packet before they'd gotten my OAT scores. Has anyone ever heard of getting accepted with these scores? I just hate that this hurdle is holding me back from being an otherwise stellar applicant. I am confident that I would do great in the program and be extremely dedicated to my studies as I have in all of my other programs (undergrad and grad school)

You can try but I doubt you'll get in with only 2 subscores over 300...I used Chad's Videos, Khan Academy videos, the big blue kaplan book and OAT destroyer.

I'd recommend checking out these resources, hiring a tutor/taking a Kaplan OAT course, you can also retake the courses you had the most difficulty in (math, gen chem, physics) at a local community college

Good luck!

I would recommend saving up some money and taking kaplan's course if you really want to be an optometrist. It's expensive, but it could really help your scores if you work at it.

Going through the big purple Kaplan book seemed to help me a lot. It was the only study resource I used. But I would suggest using other resources for physics--at least for me, this section was the hardest and Kaplan wasn't the greatest resource.

I took the OAT 4 times too. I haven't heard of anyone getting in with that score but I had a 280 and they all told me to retake it. I ended up getting a 310 by using Chads videos and Crack the OAT. YOU CAN DO IT! Don't get discouraged! Chad describes the topics in simple ways that I still remember. Just start from scratch. Forget about the other scores and just KILL this next test! Show them that you deserve it! I didn't change my study habits when I took it the first 3 times. When I was approaching my 4th time I completely changed my study habits! Maybe you should do the same too!

DONT GIVE UP! If it were easy everyone would do it.

I received a 220 on organic chemistry and a 230 in physics, but was offered an interview at NECO. My other sections were above average, but most schools would want a score of 300 on all sections.
