Just a quick question. Having applied to programs at the last minute I didn't apply to any particular professor, though I did vaguely mention my own research interests. I was offered interviews at every school I applied to, but don't know who I'm interviewing with. Should I make myself familiar with the research of all active professors or should I start emailing the department secretaries for more information?

Thanks!

I think you should definitely look at the faculty page in the programs you applied to and see if the professors there line up with your research interests. If they do, they're more likely to be the ones interviewing you for your lab. BTW, I find it very hard to understand how you just applied to any programs and was able to find that "match" component. When you applied were you interested in a particular lab? Or a particular project going on in that program?

Given that few programs in my area (Long Island, NY) had my particular program of interest (School Psychology) and the necessary credentials/accreditations as well, it was fairly easy to just read about the programs themselves, ask questions of alumni, and apply to three of the five applicable schools. There wasn't much "matching" necessary. Maybe that wouldn't work for another program or applicant, but it worked for me in my individual situation.

Thanks for the advice!
